Keeping your children safe is Our Priority - COVID-19 Update
During times of uncertainty, as we all deal with the outbreak of COVID-19, it is understandable that many of us feel an increased level of concern around protecting our health and the health of our families and communities.
Recognizing this, in an abundance of caution, The Yard and BOMBA offices are closing completely and cancelling all camps, clinics, training and events up to and including April 4th, 2020. We anticipate that the facilities will re-open, for limited use, as of April 5th, 2020, however the closure is subject to extension based upon circumstances as they develop. When the facilities re-open, we wanted to share some of the preventative steps BOMBA and POWERALLEY BASEBALL are taking to ensure The Yard meets and exceeds the cleanliness standards that our membership have come to expect.
INSIDE THE YARD
BOMBA and POWERALLEY BASEBALL are following the recommendations of major public health agencies to encourage all trainers, coaches, players, umpires and volunteers to regularly wash their hands using water and soap which is available in each of our washrooms and kitchen, along with paper towels for disposable hand drying. We also have hand sanitizer located at the front and gym entrances of The Yard.
We are also taking necessary precautions with disinfecting and sanitizing using industrial grade cleaners on all surfaces, handles and common spaces.
HOW CAN YOU HELP?
We welcome you to bring your own hand sanitizer & towels to use before during and after your training workout.
Your child is encouraged to wash his/her hands with soap and water before entering The Yard and following their workout.
Encourage your child to avoid putting their hands near their face and mouth during their workout. Limit physical contact with other team members and trainers whenever possible. Try an air high five or words of encouragement instead!
Encourage your child to use a tissue to cover their mouth when sneezing or coughing, or to cough into their upper sleeve. Used tissues and disinfecting wipes should be disposed of immediately in a proper garbage container.
If you or your child is feeling unwell, please do not come to The Yard. Contact your healthcare professional and follow their recommendations.
If you or your child has travelled outside of the Country, we encourage you to self-quarantine for a minimum of 14 days before returning to The Yard or any organized baseball activities and please advise your coach immediately.
BOMBA and POWERALLEY BASEBALL will continue to monitor information and recommendations from the Public Health Agency of Canada to ensure we are using the best hygiene practices available. Should new recommendations be shared by public health experts, we will re-evaluate and update our processes where necessary.
We encourage you to visit the information provided by the World Health Organization at www.who.int
