Summer is finally here With the summer comes the heat!! There is a challenge, during this time of the year, to ensure all players are safe while playing sports.Here are some of the most important things to remember when playing in the heat.1. Keep hydrated!!2. Apply sunscreen3. Find some shade!4. Bring wet towels or a spray bottle!If you feel dizzy or experience any symptoms related to the heat If a player, coach or family member starts to feel dizzy, faint, nauseas or get muscle cramps or a headache, they may be experiencing heat exhaustion and/or dehydration. If this happens, have them sit down in the shade, drink plenty of water and electrolyte drinks, apply a cold towel to the face and back of the neck, and be sure to take them out of the game. Health and safety come first!
