2022 Winter Yard Clinics


ALL-SKILLS Training Clinics - “MAC”simize your baseball skills!

Saturday, February 12th to Saturday, April 2nd (8 sessions) 

 8 - 11 year olds; 8:45am - 10:45am

12 - 15 year olds; 11am - 1:00pm

Pricing: $600 (16 hrs x $37.50/hr.)

All COVID-19 health and safety protocols will be followed.

Players must bring clean indoor shoes (no cleats) to be worn during the sessions.

Maximum 50 participants (25 in each side of The Yard) per group.

Instructor Bios:

Trainer Full Name: Josh Kalmin

Josh is a 2nd year pitcher for the McMaster Marauders baseball team. He has played rep baseball for multiple teams across the Greater Toronto area since the age of 8. Throughout his time in baseball he has won three AAA OBA championships and played baseball in almost 20 states across the USA. He is currently a level three umpire going into his 8th year. Josh is studying economics and political science at McMaster University.

Trainer Full Name: Mason Mayea

Mason is a 2nd year catcher for the McMaster Marauders baseball team. He played travel baseball in Windsor-Essex County with the Riverside Royals, the Tecumseh Thunder and the Windsor Selects. Mason has coached with the 2007 Riverside Royals AAA team for the previous 5 years. He is also a level three umpire entering his 9th year with Riverside Minor Baseball. He is currently in the honours life sciences program at McMaster University.  

Trainer Full Name: Maclean Van Raay

Maclean is a 2nd year infielder for the McMaster Marauders baseball team. He played rep level baseball for over 12 years in the Hamilton area. He plays summer baseball for the Hamilton Junior Cardinals and has played in 5 US tournaments. Maclean also helped coach the Hamilton Cardinals AAA 2005 age group for 5 years. He is currently studying commerce at McMaster University.

Trainer Full Name: Joe Kruse

Joe is a third year 3rd baseman for the Marauders baseball team. He played summer baseball for the Mississauga Majors in the EBLO, and has competed in tournaments in 10 US states. He has also helped out at Mississauga Majors baseball camps/clinics for young children annually. Joe is in the Honours Commerce with Internship program at McMaster University.

Trainer Full Name: Magnus Hanson

Magnus is a 1st year outfielder for the McMaster Marauders baseball team. He played for the Mid-Island Pirates of the BC Premier Baseball League for 6 years, and he played for BC Minor All Star teams for 5 years. Magnus has helped coach U12 summer camps as well as some private coaching lessons with U10. Magnus is studying in Humanities at McMaster University.

Trainer Full Name: Michael Ong

5th Year Outfield/DH for McMaster University’s Baseball Team; 2x OBA Championships; 1x National Championship; 1x LOSSA Tier 3 Championship; Most Outstanding Male Athlete High School graduation; OUA: 2x OUA First-Team All Star, 2021 OUA Finalist. Selected to the 2nd Annual Tournament 12 as part of Ontario Black after 15U season. Teams competed for: Scarborough Stingers, North York Blues, Pickering-Ajax Cubs, Etobicoke Rangers, and Ontario Blue Jays - Traverse. Program: Commerce - Focus in Finance and Sales

Strength and Conditioning Clinics

Saturday, February 12th to Saturday, April 2nd (8 sessions) 

11:00am - 12:00pm (12U - 14U, birth years 2008 - 2010) 

12:15pm - 1:15pm (15U - 18U, birth years 2004 - 2007)

Pricing: $280

Maximum 8 participants per age group.

Players must bring clean indoor shoes (no cleats) to be worn during the sessions.

Description of clinic: Strength and conditioning is an essential part of an athlete’s development. With a strong foundation, it is easier to build arm velocity, powerful swings, and speed on the base paths. In this 8-week clinic, players will learn the essentials of strength and conditioning. They will learn proper weightlifting mechanics, running form, and many more core concepts to a baseball-specific strength and conditioning program. Players will also learn how to adapt their home environment to train with minimal equipment, and enhance their performance.

Instructor Bio: Kenny Noguchi is our 15/16U Strength and Conditioning Coach for the 2021-2022 season. Kenny completed his Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology at McMaster University, where he was a Strength and Conditioning Coach for the Marauders Football and Women’s Basketball teams. He also completed his Master’s degree at McMaster, studying cardiovascular adaptations to high-intensity exercise in clinical populations. He is currently a second year PhD student at McMaster University, and his expertise is in strength training in clinical populations. Kenny has played high level baseball for nearly 15 years, and has returned for his 8th year as a pitcher for the McMaster University baseball team.
